Bob Johnson, Director of the WUD, has asked that I send along a message concerning the lack of Deism Updates and the delay in subscribers receiving Deistic Thought & Action and THINKOnline newsletters. Recently the WUD headquarters was moved from Sarasota, FL, to Painesville, OH. Bob has experienced some issues in trying to establish and setup a business class interest connection that would allow his send out mass emailings.
He is currently switching to a new Internet Service Provider and is hoping to be back online sometime within the coming week. During this week, there may be a few times when the Deism.com website will be down while Bob switches servers.
Bob also wanted me to pass along some news that should be of concern for all Deists. The Vatican recently threatened to excommunicate anyone who ordains a woman as a priest and to excommunicate the woman as well. If you have time, can you do a Deist Podcast on this? Here's a Deist leaflet we have about women and the Abrahamic "revealed" religions that may help: http://www.deism.com/images/what%20wrong%20with%20women.pdf
This topic will also be discussed in next week's Deism Podcast in greater detail. This is an idea that should receive a lot of attention from Christians and non-Christians alike. It seems that in some circles, the intolerance and inequality of past centuries is still alive and well today. Stay tuned for more information on this topic. We will explore some of the history that has plagued equality for all humankind, especially where the revealed religions are concerned, and how Deism can and is playing an important role in establishing equality for all.

Hello,
After reading most of your blog, I'd like to know your opinion on militant atheism. Also, I'd like to know why you hold so much anger or antagonism against religion, from the personal point of view.
Thanks!
Clemente
Clemente,
Actually I have nothing personally against people of any other religion. I have have said in numerous posts on this blog and in the yahoo discussion group, people have every right in the world to choose the religion that is right for them.
I do however disagree with many of the aspects of the Abrahamic religions in general. Their superstitious lies have hurt and killed millions of people across history. Of course, people have died horrific deaths in other manners, but it remain a truth that without these terrible religions people would have lived more free, longer, and happier lives.
I follow Deism, so of course, I disagree with the tenets of other religious philosophies. The idea that The Creator reveals himself/herself to a few chosen people is obsurd. However, if a person's sense of reason is flawed, there is nothing that I can say or do that will allow them to understand balanced reason. Every person must come to terms with religion on their own. I actually wrote a post concerning this exact topic, http://moderndeism.blogspot.com/2008/03/do-we-choose-our-religion-or-does-it.html. Give it a read if you haven't already. It pretty much sums up what I think about people how follow other religions.
I do want to make one thing very clear. Deism, to me, is not a religion. It is a religious philosophy that guides my moral and ethical understanding of our universe. I hope this helps answer your questions.
